Blackbirds

Yesterday evening, the blackbirds in our garden sang for the first time this year which means spring is in the air. Not that it will really be there yet for another month or three. :-) But we will get there - the blackbirds know it already.

Oh, a Liveship trilogy icon! I like Robin Hobb's novels, though I must admit some aspects frustrate me about each of the trilogies...

I love the artwork by John Howe! Actually, I discovered the first of Robin Hobb's novels in the library 10 years ago because the cover was so interesting. *g*
My favorite book by her is actually "Alien Earth" which she still wrote as Megan Lindholm. I just connect with it every time.

My mom was just telling me about how she's been waiting and expecting to hear redwing blackbirds soon. She loves them.

(Incidentally, my mom knows like everything about birds for some reason. It's one of those things she randomly knows everything about - like famous artists and musicians and stuff.)

The song of blackbirds equal spring and summer. And after 3 months of uninterrupted snow and cold I'm so looking forward to spring this years.
