Yesterday I finished watching season 5 of Buffy. Expect lots of posts coming soon.
At Angel, I still haven't watched beyond episode 16. Will probably finish season 2 by the weekend.

In my upcoming posts I will write what I thought at the time of actually watching the episode, even if I already have more knowledge by now after also seeing the episodes afterwards.

I Look Forward To Reading Them...

The end of Season Five is AMAZING, isn't it?

BTVS is absolutely one of the most amazing show I've ever watched, IMO. Perfect casting, writing, great rich characters...etc.

BTW, There's an episode guide that I have.. You are watching out of order, though--so you probably won't care, but here it is anyway.. Once Buffy skips to UPN, then ATS and BTVS sort of go there seperate ways, although they nod at each other on occasion.

Yup, all the actors seem to give their very best. They don't just play the characters, they are the characters.

And this is a useful guide. Definitely one for my memory section.

I didn't mean to watch out of order so much, but it's much easier to stay with one set of characters for a while and then to switch back again.

What does "UPN" mean?

At the end of season five the contract with the WB ran out (similar to what happened to Angel) UPN was a young network and there was sort of a bidding war with the networks over who would get the rights to Buffy. UPN got the show, and then the WB wouldn't allow any crossovers from Angel in season six. In seven, the WB and UPN slacked up and allowed crossovers.

The WB announced their shiney blonde boy a week before CHOSEN aired, where Spike died. Spike fans were relieved because we had seen the spoilers, but Joss wasn't very happy that the WB spilled. Even though the WB didn't renew after five (and the ratings were up) Most feel that season five of ATS was the show at it's peak, particularly the second half. James and David have incredible chemistry and they play off each other as well as any of the great movie male teams.

Morons! I don't get it. If the ratings are high, why cancel a successful show.
(I believe in some parallel universe there are 7 seasons of "Angel". :-))

I might be wrong, but I think it's something to do with the money they have to pay out after it's available for Syndication. The WB doesn't own ATS (FOX does) and I guess they thought they could make their own series work. I think they realizes now what a blunder that was as heads rolled and they've been rather apologetic and finger pointy..
