Staying home today
Nov. 23rd, 2005 11:40 amAfter 4 days without heating in our house and very cold, occasionally damp weather outside & continued contact with collegues who got the flue, I've finally got a cold.
Thank heavens it's not the icky kind of cold that leaves you with a runny nose. I've "only" lost my voice, i.e. I can talk, but my voice is about an octave lower than normal. Also I've got a headache and am very tired. I've slept since 7pm yesterday with only short interruptions and am now drinking liters of orange juice.
I will not feel this bad tomorrow, because I will go out and watch Serenity, the movie everybody in the US and Australia has already seen.
I think I'll sleep some more and then settle down to watch some Buffy and Angel. Maybe I'll also dig out my old notebook and type up some impressions while staying in bed.
The good news: Our heater was repaired yesterday. All rooms are nice and cozy and we got hot water. Nice.
