The love of a cat...

thalia_seawoodWhenever my boyfriend and/or I have been away from home travelling and then return home, our cat seems to make a special effort. As soon as we get back, we get presents.
Since Monday we've got five mice. Two were still alive and could be rescued by us, #3 - #5 already had passed on into mice heaven.
And the cat takes such an effort with them. She puts her gifts in front of our work desks, so we can't miss them. Very thoughful. Just now she brought me the second mouse of the evening...
These mice are such tiny, delicate things. I really would like them to be alive. On the other hand, the mouse population would totally explode without cats.
By the way, my cat not only brings mice. On occasion, she has brought a flower, a tiny apple and a chestnut. Nope, I'm not kidding. (This also couldn't have been set up, as my boyfriend wasn't at home on two occasions plus the tiny apple had indentions from her teeth.) These were really cute presents, I could enjoy without feeling bad. *g*
But hey, she also likes rice, potatoes, peas (which she flattens with her paw before eating them) and zucchini, so she has a vegetarian streak.
