Pirates of the Caribbean

thalia_seawoodLast Thursday, this movie finally came to the cinemas over here. Since nearly all my livejournal acquaintances have been writing how wonderful it is (those men! Jack Sparrow!) and fanfiction.net sports more than 1000 POTC stories after such a short time, I've watched it tonight.
What can I say? It's wonderful! Jack Sparrow! Those men!! Those women!! :-)
What really amazes me is that a Disney movie sports such an intriguing main character: Jack Sparrow is not your typical manly hero. The way he moves and talks is totally gay! He acts like some of my gay friends when they want to show off... Officially, Jack seems to have lots of women interests, but he never actually kisses one of these women. Quite the contrary, he is slapped around by them. When alone with Elizabeth, he flirts - and otherwise behaves as if he were her brother. When he returns to his ship at the end of the movie, he isn't interested in Anamaria, the Black Pearl is much more important to him.
Oh, and the way he flirts! He flirts with women, he flirts with men, he even flirts with his executioner and Norrington.
So, let's make it official: I adore Jack Sparrow! Let's get him together with Will; Elizabeth can have Anamaria. (And Norrington/Sparrow would be interesting, too. Norrington needs to let go a bit...)
Also very much enjoyed the humor and all those skeletons! Savvy!

On other news, my wisdom teeth will be removed on Tuesday. Am scarred. But then I'm not very courageous. Let's see when I feel fit to write again in my LJ.
