So many people have already posted about Katrina and her aftermath. There's nothing to add really, but I guess I'll feel better if I write down some of my thoughts.

Natural catastrophes happen and there's not much you can do about them. But I'm deeply shocked by how badly the aftermath of the hurricane has been managed so far. Many lives could have been saved if help had arrived faster. From what I've seen on TV even 6 days after Katrina stroke, the organisation is incredibly bad. People are finally being evacuated, but are the places they will be moved to any better?

On the upside I get the impression that many US citizens are offering immediate help. They really make a difference.
I'm also happy that Bush has finally accepted the help of other nations, help that had been offered freely already days ago, but had been declined so far.

After seeing so many bad news I looked for something positive and found this blog. Here a blogger collects good things that happen in the states affected by the hurricane, e.g. families being reunited, ordinary people saving others, food being donated, etc. I really needed some good news to counterbalance all the awful things I had read.

Reflects my own thoughts... Thanks for the Good News blog, this is at least a little comforting and makes me feel better a bit.
