I've watched ALIAS up to the two parter "Passage". After Irina and Jack put my TV screen on fire with their UST, I decided it was time for a little break. :-)

Irina is definitely growing on me. What can be better than Misunderstood!Villain?! :-)

The funny thing is: We know that she's an excellent liar. And yet, it's so easy to believe that she never meant to harm Sydney and only shot her to keep her safe. And yes, I want to believe her! But still I remain skeptic until I've collected further data.

I really wish Sydney would do the same. But Sydney SuperSpy is very gullible. She so much wants to be part of a happy family that she's very vulnerable to expressions of love.

Well, just one more reason for me to enjoy ALIAS. We get characters with many layers, strengths and weaknesses. These characters may be great spies and have no problem memorizing long codes or performing dangerous stunts, but when it comes to normal interaction with other people they have a hard time. :-)

Since yesterday, I'm watching Firefly once more and oh, there are no words to express how much I love this show!!

The Firefly universe feels very real - like a place you could step into to take some holiday.
I like the mix of cultures and history (modern tech exists next to primitive ways).
I also like how the characters talk: On TV, usually one character talks after another so everything can be clearly understood. In real life, there are many occasions where this just doesn't happen. Well, Firefly takes that into account. People sitting around the table at mealtimes talk simultanously or interrupt one another and it just feels so real you want to sit there too and join in.

The characters could easily be stereotypes (e.g. Jayne = the tough guy, Kaylee = the sweet girl), but they are not! Every one has little character quirks that make them truly come to life. And they have the talent to surprise you with their actions as well. It delighted me to see that Jayne knows a word like "pretentious" or that Zoe doesn't want to spend time on a core planet or that Kaylee likes dresses with ruffles. :-)

And the plot of the episodes is good, too. So far there's not one show I didn't enjoy!

Some of my favorite quotes - just for fun:
Pitter patter. The sound of tiny feet in combat boots.
She's terse. I can be terse.

And now I have to finish watching "War Stories". :-)
